From glasses and contact lenses to patching and exercises, we provide the full gamut of eye care.  This includes complete medical eye evaluations, as well as treatment for a range of eye problems, including amblyopia, astigmatism, myopia, hyperopia, tear duct obstructions, and many more. Many of our patients are successfully treated by in-office and non-surgical techniques.

We take great pride in being able to see emergencies and semi-urgent issues on the same day. We offer evening and weekend appointments and accept most insurances.

Why are Children's Eye Exams Important?

Your child discovers the world with their eyes. We are happy to see that our babies recognize us, track objects around the room and play “I spy” walking or driving our young children home from school.

Because your child’s vision is crucial for learning, playing and connecting, having their eyes tested from infancy is important. A pediatric eye exam tracks development skills and detects problems early so your eye doctor can treat them.

What is Myopia and can it be treated?

Myopia commonly known as nearsightedness results from progressive lengthening of the eye. As light enters the eye it causes objects in the distance to appear blurry. As the eye grows longer, the prescription increases. This elongation increases the likelihood of ocular diseases such as retinal detachment, maculopathy, glaucoma, and cataracts. Myopia is a multifactorial condition. Genetics play a role in the development of nearsightedness. Environmental factors such as increased near work has also been shown to be correlated with myopic progression. Fortunately, we offer three evidence-based methods that can be utilized to slow down the progression of myopia.  Progressive myopia can be sight-threatening leading to ocular diseases such as retinal detachment, myopic maculopathy, glaucoma and cataracts. The earlier we control myopia, the better the outcome for your child.

While there is no cure for myopia, there are a number of treatments that can slow its progression and even halt it completely in children and young teens. Our experts work directly with each family to create treatment plans tailored to your child's specific needs.
